About the Author:
Adisha Kariyawasam


Adisha was born in Sri Lanka but has lived in the United Kingdom for over 48 years.  He is married and blessed with with one son.  He is a trained classical musician with a ABRSM grade 8 for violin, an instrument he has been playing since the tender age of 4.  He is also a pianist and plays piano accordion, acoustic guitar, drums and percussion from time to time.

Although Information Systems Project Management is his vocation, art and music continue to be his passion.

In the late 1990s he directed a 7 piece Sri Lankan band called ‘Diversity’ and performed keyboards live on stage for charity functions, stage plays, wedding receptions and school-reunions.  He is inspired by music from around the world and has studied classical Indian music too.  

These days however, he enjoys composing tailor-made atmospheric music themes for audiobooks and soundtracks for short films and trailers.

He writes for many genres action, military, sci-fi, suspense/thriller and easy-listening.  intrigued by the healing power of music he has even written several pieces of music for relaxation and meditation.

“The process of creating music is incredibly rewarding” he says, adding that “writing and performing music allows me to capture and re-present moods and emotions. It’s a very spiritual yet disciplined process that is especially good for the heart and mind.  That’s why I enjoy teaching music too and always encourage people, especially young children, to learn a musical instrument.  The benefits are immeasurable and it’s never too late to learn!”
